Hearth & Patio
The Hearth and Patio store started out as The Chimney Shop in 1978. When the business outgrew its first location, they built a new store on Monroe Road. The name was changed to The Hearth and Patio as the store began offering outdoor furniture as a summer compliment to the winter-based fireplace product. Mildred Marze, an original employee of The Chimney Shop, and her husband Don Marze purchased the business in 1985. Their success was built on having a great product at a fair price, good service for our customers, and knowledgeable employees.
Today’s customers are still greeted by the famed cowbell hanging inside the front door. The company has grown; other family members have joined the staff to continue the dream of excellent products, service, and selection.
Hearth and Patio has expanded to include a dedicated outdoor living furniture showroom that features furniture and accessories from top-names in manufacturing. Grills, Outdoor Kitchens, as well as, Fireplaces, Stoves, Gas Logs, and all Hearth Accessories now have their own showroom. The third section to the Hearth and Patio Outdoor Living compound includes a rear building featuring Wicker and Wood collections. This building also holds one-of-a-kind, discontinued, and floor samples from the showrooms at deeper discounts.
After 30 plus years, Hearth and Patio continue the responsibility of “exceeding the customer’s expectations”, which the Marze family proudly claims as Hearth and Patio’s slogan. They are proud to be a locally owned and operated company and Charlotte area’s finest resource for outdoor furniture, grills, fireplaces, stoves, and accessories.
